DIFFERENCES BETWEEN BLOCKCHAIN AND TRADITIONAL DATABASES

Blockchain and traditional databases are different technologies with different characteristics. Although some people may confuse these two technologies, there are important differences between them.

First of all , blockchain is designed to operate in a decentralized manner, while traditional databases are always centralized [ 1 ]. This means that blockchain is a distributed technology that does not require a central authority to function, while traditional databases always have a central point of control. Due to its decentralized nature, blockchain is considered a more secure technology and resistant to malicious attacks.

Second , a blockchain is actually a database because it is a digital ledger that stores information in data structures called blocks [ 2 ]. However, the fundamental difference between blockchain and traditional databases is that blockchain development services uses a blockchain data structure that is resistant to manipulation and corruption. In contrast, traditional databases use a data structure based on tables and relationships that is not resistant to manipulation and corruption.

Third , blockchain is a technology that is used for many different applications, including cryptocurrency, digital identity, electronic voting, and supply chain management [ 3 ]. On the other hand, traditional databases are mainly used to store and manage large amounts of information in a company or organization.

In short , blockchain and traditional databases are different technologies with different characteristics. While traditional databases are centralized and use a data structure based on tables and relationships, blockchain is decentralized and uses a block chain data structure. Additionally, blockchain is used for many different applications, while traditional databases are primarily used to store and manage information in a company or organization.
